Through the African American Lens
Mount Design, Fabrication & Installation
In 2015, ELY provided mount design and fabrication services for the National Museum of African American History and Culture’s exhibit, Through the African American Lens: Selections from the Permanent Collection. Throughout the project, ELY worked closely with museum designers, collections managers, and conservators to mount over 50 objects ranging from a Civil War shelter tent and swords to musical instruments, furniture, and books. From the initial project meeting through installation on the National Mall, ELY anticipated problems and offered solutions. Our team’s flexibility and collaborative approach helped produce a successful exhibition. MM_NMAAHC_Lens.pdf
