Apotheosis of the Family

Collections Relocations

In 1932, in a bank building in Wilmington, DE, the N.C. Wyeth mural Apotheosis of the Family was installed with a lead adhesive. In 2008, working closely with five different conservators, an environmental safety company and a hazardous material company, ELY carefully removed the painting in five sections, rolled it onto sealed tubes, and relocated it to safe storage. ELY oversaw the complete asbestos abatement process, including the construction of a contained work area and the proper disposal of hazardous materials. Apotheosis of the Family:Mural deinstall.pdf
