More than 100 years since it opened, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History’s Hall of Fossils underwent a major renovation. ELY’s team of mountmakers designed and created 577 new mounts for dinosaur fossils of all sizes and shapes for the new exhibition. This required a variety of custom mounts in brass for smaller, lighter specimens and steel mounts for oversized or heavier fossils. Once completed, the team will install the fossils into the new exhibition hall in time for a 2019 opening. MM_Deep Time.pdf
